A comfortable riverside base for ICONSIAM, boat rides and a slower Bangkok pace.
Why I chose the riverside
I picked the Millennium Hilton because I wanted to be near Bangkok’s temples and the river rather than stay in the Sukhumvit nightlife area. The Chao Phraya view became the highlight of my room: I loved watching boats move past with the city behind them. My Executive King room was comfortable and reasonably spacious, although some furnishings felt less modern than in the newer luxury hotels I had visited.
ICONSIAM, the boat and the lounge
Being beside ICONSIAM made shopping and food incredibly easy, and I liked that the hotel had its own boat service to Sathorn Pier. That made the riverside location much more practical than it first sounded. At the time of my video, I also enjoyed the Executive Lounge and the rooftop 360 Lounge views. The lounge arrangement has since changed; a viewer told me the Executive Lounge moved to the third floor, so I would check its current location and benefits before booking specifically for the old rooftop setup.
Breakfast and my verdict
Breakfast impressed me, especially the range of food and the river setting. I would choose the Millennium Hilton when I wanted a calmer stay, a river view and easy access to ICONSIAM. I would not choose it for a trip where stepping straight onto the BTS or being in the middle of Sukhumvit mattered most. My favourite room choice would be a high floor with a proper river-facing view.
