Fairmont Tokyo Review: A Calm, Spacious Luxury Stay

Fairmont Tokyo gave me one of the calmest and most spacious hotel rooms I’ve had in Tokyo. I booked a Bay View King room with my Gold status and wasn’t upgraded, but I was very happy with the room I had.

MY ROOM AND THE VIEW

The room looked out towards Tokyo Bay and the Rainbow Bridge. It felt generous by Tokyo standards, with a comfortable sitting area and a layout that felt calm rather than flashy. I liked the large bath, separate toilet, dual sinks, Japanese pajamas, Nespresso machine and Marshall speaker. The thoughtful details made it easy to settle in, and the room was quiet.

POOL AND HOTEL DESIGN

I enjoyed the hotel’s design, lighting and artwork, and I used the pool and heated outdoor jacuzzi. The atmosphere felt polished without being stuffy. I also liked the views around the hotel, especially from the bars; the Tower-facing spaces offer a different outlook from my Bay View room.

MY VERDICT

I’d choose Fairmont Tokyo for a special stay when I want a beautiful room and a quieter waterfront setting. It felt comfortable and timeless to me, especially compared with the more contemporary feel of Conrad Tokyo. I missed breakfast after oversleeping, so I can’t give you a firsthand breakfast review. My stay was in the Bay View King; room views and upgrades depend on what you book and availability.
