I stayed at Mercure Tokyo Ginza for two nights after arriving on a First Class flight. I remember a warm welcome from the English-speaking staff, a smooth check-in and a convenient location for exploring Ginza. The hotel has since closed, so this is a record of my past stay rather than a recommendation for a hotel you can book today.
MY ROOM AND BENEFITS
I stayed in a Privilege Queen room. My Accor Platinum benefits included wine, snacks, breakfast and drink vouchers. The room had a comfortable bed, sofa and a large bathroom, though it felt very dark to me.
BREAKFAST AND LOCATION
I enjoyed breakfast at Le Bistro de L’échanson, with Japanese and Western choices, including chicken and eggs. I found the location practical, with Ginza-itchome station accessible by elevator and plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby. My rate was around $130–150 a night during a quiet January period; that was a historical price and varied with demand.
MY VERDICT
I enjoyed the service, breakfast and location during my stay, although the dark room wasn’t my favourite. Mercure Tokyo Ginza closed in 2024 and is no longer bookable.
