La Petite Salil Sukhumvit 11 Review: A Cute, Central Stay

My last-minute Songkran stay had a surprisingly useful room, friendly staff and no pool or gym.

Why I tried it

I had passed La Petite Salil on Soi 11 many times because I usually stayed across the street. When plans changed during Songkran, I found a last-minute room for about 2,200 baht. That was the rate on my visit, not a typical price promise.

The room and the little details

I was upgraded to what seemed to be one of the hotel’s better rooms, although I do not know the exact room category. The French-inspired decor felt cute rather than formal, and the bathroom had a generous shower. I was surprised to find a microwave and a genuinely useful full-size fridge with a small freezer compartment. The staff were friendly, and the attached Mexican restaurant was a pleasant extra. There were also plenty of shops and 7-Elevens nearby.

Location and trade-offs

This is a small, no-frills stay in the middle of Soi 11’s nightlife. I walked to the main street most of the time; it felt close enough that I rarely needed a tuk-tuk. There is no pool or gym, which did not bother me on a trip when I barely used those facilities anyway. It would not be my pick if a resort-style hotel mattered to me.

My verdict

I would consider La Petite Salil when I wanted a charming room in a very central party area without paying for facilities I would not use. My upgraded room and Songkran rate were specific to that stay. I would compare the exact room and current rate before booking.
