Conrad Tokyo Review: Bay Views, Executive Lounge and a Great Breakfast

Conrad Tokyo gave me the central, polished stay I wanted near Shimbashi, Shiodome and Ginza. My Hilton status brought an upgrade from City View to a Bay View Twin, so the room I had was not the exact room I booked.

THE ROOM AND VIEW

My room felt spacious by Tokyo standards and looked over Hamarikyu Gardens and Tokyo Bay. It was well kept, though not brand new. I liked the roomy bathroom and the sunrise view. I also used the pool and gym.

LOUNGE AND BREAKFAST

The Executive Lounge was a real highlight for me, with afternoon tea, snacks and evening canapés and drinks. At breakfast I could choose one à la carte dish alongside the buffet. I loved the lobster omelette, and my wife enjoyed the eggs Benedict. Later guests told me the lounge and breakfast had become busier and more limited, so I’d check recent reviews and current access before booking.

MY VERDICT

I’d stay here for a central base with a strong breakfast, lounge and bay view. I preferred the location to Shinjuku for my own trips. My points rate of 95,000 per night was historical and has since increased. Lounge access and room upgrades depend on eligibility and availability.
