Arawana Grande Bangkok Review: My $15 Budget Hotel Test

A very short 2022 stay that showed me the risk of booking the absolute cheapest room in Bangkok.

Why I tried it

In an older Bangkok hotel test, I booked the Arawana Grande for about CHF 15 a night. This was an extreme budget comparison, not a full multi-night review.

What I found in my room

The room made a poor first impression. I noticed a crooked toilet fixture, two beds pushed together and several visible marks on the bedding. It felt poorly maintained. At that price I expected basic, but cleanliness is where I drew the line. The short video did not let me assess the staff, breakfast or facilities.

My verdict

Based on the room I saw, I would not choose this stay again unless price were the overriding concern and recent reviews for the exact room category were reassuring. This is a snapshot from 2022, not a claim about the hotel’s condition today.
